Copenhagen Blues Festival 2014 starts with
a great award ceremony, presenting the two blues awards
"Danish Blues Artist 2014" and Danish Blues Release 2014.

Lars Hybel has played with som of the greatest in Danish country and country rock: br> CV Jørgensen, Warm Guns, Allan Olsen and many more, and if you can talk about guitar
legends, he must be one.
Hybel is his own man, and his excellent voice and guitar play encompasses the whole
spectrum of feelings. In support of his new CD, allready in rotation at radio stations, he
and his faithful soulmates, Gert Smedegaard, drums, and Knut Henriksen, bass, play their
release concert this early evening at PH Cafeen, located in Hybel's very own hood, Vesterbro.

In 2011 Obadiah Parker issued the album “The Siren and The Saint”- the first with exclusively
his own material. The songwriter with the strong soul inspired voice, always with a good groove,
has never been afraid to interpret songs written by other artists. His rendering of “Hey Ya” by Outcast,
is proof that a good interpretation can bring new life to a well known number. The song brought close to
10 million hits on YouTube-hits and sold more than 500000 copies on Itunes. His own work certainly
deserves a closer look, a song like “Red Handed” is one among many, from his debut record, that
portray an intense and personal story, of the journey out of addiction and his relation to two women.
This evening Obadiah performs in a trio-constellation.

Aske Jacoby has played with with just about everybody on the Danish rock and blues scene:
News, C.V.Jorgensen, Sanne Salemonsen, Thomas Helmig, Kasper Winding, Danseorkesteret,
Afenginn, Billy Cross, Paul Banks and countless more.
He has played on more than 350 releases, and also has a number of solo-releases in the luggage.
Jacoby was one of the founders of the group News, and later on, Danseorkesteret.
He is current with a new album “Chant”, an album with clean and harmonic sound, that traverses
the borderland between 'Americana, blues and rock'.

Jarno Varsted started his career towards the end of the last millennia as mouth-harp player and
singer in the well known Copenhagen band “The Young Comets”. He has toured and recorded
diligently with Troels Jensen, H.P.Lange Hugo Rasmussen, The Savage Rose and many more.

Troels Jensen is widely recognized by his peers as 'The Grand Ol' Man of Danish Blues.
He has paid his dues since the early sixties, and has played in numerous bands over the
years, always leaving a lasting impression on audiences and musical partners alike.
This evening he's in the forefront of his top-tuned, extremely competent and exciting
nine piece outfit, The Healers, swinging like hell. A couple of years ago they issued
a CD called "Look This Way" - so, please do that !
